Matthew Edelen

Cofounder and CPO at Spire Labs, where I build market-making and onchain trading infrastructure. Studying business and economics at Ohio State. Most of my code is Rust.

What I work on

  • Market making and execution: quoting, inventory management, markout measurement, and solver routing on Base
  • Ethereum research: preconfirmations and based sequencing; four works cited in SoK: Preconfirmations (2025)
  • Simulation and tooling: deterministic simulators, RL training harnesses, and tools for running coding agents in parallel

Projects

  • clockwork: Alloy-based MEV bot in Rust
  • sir: runs parallel coding agents in git worktrees
  • six-tac: infinite hex tic-tac-toe with a Rust/Wasm search engine on Cloudflare Workers
  • coin-everything: turned tweets into Zora coins and paid ~0.3 ETH in royalties to their authors
