Mastodon GmbH is a German non-profit developing a decentralized social network
Mastodon is where conversations happen - a free, open source social network, where people can follow friends and discover new ones. All Mastodon servers are interoperable as a federated network, via the ActivityPub protocol. Mastodon is part of the Fediverse: people with a Mastodon account can interact with content on a variety of other apps and platforms.
