A gubernatorial election was held in Virginia on December 6, 1823.[4] The incumbent governor of Virginia James Pleasants was re-elected unanimously.[1]
The election was conducted by the Virginia General Assembly in joint session.[3] Pleasants was elected unanimously on the first ballot.[1]
