Regional Director

Stronger futures through Eurasia’s languages.
Eurasia is home to more than 629 living languages. For nearly 60 years, SIL has partnered with local communities across the region to pursue their language goals, working today with 134 communities from southern Europe to the Himalayas and Siberia. Work across the region varies by country and is shaped by local partnerships, priorities, and context.
This work focuses on language development, literacy and education, community engagement, culture documentation, and language technology, often alongside local partners seeking to make knowledge, stories, and Scripture accessible in meaningful ways. Shaped by long-term relationships and shared goals, these efforts invite participation and collaboration that continue to grow and adapt over time.
