Raid
At 1:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 1969 police walked into the Stonewall Inn. The employees were not told there was going to be a raid. Like they did in other raids, the police lined up the people in the bar and checked their ID's. They also confirmed the sex of the people Cross-dressing to arrest them. The people in the Inn and those watching from outside began the initial riot.
