Seward is a city in Alaska. It is on the coast of the Kenai Peninsula. About 2,700 people live there. The town is named after William H. Seward. He was the United States Secretary of State under Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Johnson. In 1867, he fought for the U.S. purchase of Alaska from Russia.
