The International Energy Agency (IEA; French: Agence internationale de l'énergie) is an autonomous intergovernmental organization for energy security created in 1974 after the 1973 oil crisis undr the flamework of OECD. It is based in Paris.
On 1 September 2015, Fatih Birol succeeded the 2011 Executive Director of the IEA, Maria van der Hoeven.[1]
